We are in Minot, ND at the 'Norsk
Hostfest' as I write this, getting 'Scandinavianized'. It has been a good
summer for us and we are not sure if we want to come back, but we will be at
Galvin Bay. Sandy Rung has looked after the details for the fall brunch, which
will be in this newsletter, so I can rest easy. We hit the road on Monday Oct.
6 with four new tires (now I've got your interest) and look forward to seeing
everyone again.

We couldn’t have asked for better weather for the OTT
September outing. The days were sunny and warm while the nights were cool. And
only one evening did it rain and that was so brief it’s hardly worth
mentioning.
We were all parked together at beautiful Woodland Park at
Sauble Beach. The sites have level concrete pads which we were very thankful
for since our leveling jacks would not go down. But we weren’t the only ones
with coach problems. Nick couldn’t get the water circulating for the coach
heater; but after two hours of the guys checking things out, he realized he
hadn’t turned the valve on (oops). The Sallows had trouble getting their
satellite dish to go up (a gear slipping) and the Keating’s slide wouldn’t go
in after the weekend.
In spite of all this, Group 3 hosted a well organized
outing. Thursday evening sitting around the campfire allowed us to visit and
get caught up with each other. Friday morning we were treated to homemade
muffins, breads, and hot coffee. Afterwards some went golfing while others
shopped in nearby Southampton and others relaxed at the park. Some of us made
wooden pumpkins by painting precut 4X4 blocks. We got very creative with
painting the faces and all the pumpkins looked quite spooky sitting together
drying on the picnic table. Happy hour began at 3:30 with cheese and crackers
supplied. A hot dog supper followed complete with all the trimmings, lots of
veggies, and cakes and ice cream for dessert.
Saturday morning we were again treated to homemade goodies
and hot coffee, thanks to some quick repairs to the coffee urn. The annual
meeting and election of officers followed breakfast.
Then some friendly competition as we showed our skill at
throwing beanbags, bocce balls, steel washers, and golf balls on ropes. We were
divided into two teams fittingly called the Winnebagos and the Itascas. The
Rungs, Keatings, Binks, and Holborns acted as referees and scorekeepers with
the Watkins tallying the final results.

The Itasca team tallied a score of 624 beating the Winnebago
team by 71 points and was awarded a “loonie” each since as Dave W says “the
games were a little loony”.
Saturday’s potluck supper provided a variety of tasty
dishes. There were no duplicates so it was tricky finding room on the plate to
sample each.
Sunday morning after the remaining goodies were gone, we
said our goodbyes and went on our way looking forward to seeing each other at
the October outing.

These are the officers as elected at the Annual General Meeting in September at Sauble Beach. We thank Bruce and Eileen for their past service as Treasurer.
We arrived home from our trip on September 30th, had a wonderful time and great weather. I’m sure we will bore you to death at some time with the pictures we took but the scenery was just awesome.
Sorry the last newsletter was late arriving to those who receive it my regular mail, they were mailed from Amarillo, TX on September 9th. A few of the e-mails were returned, guess I need to learn a little more about Web Mail.
See you in Galvin Bay.
